摘要
We present a study of mid-infrared photoluminescence emitted from Tb3+:GeAsGaSe chalcogenide bulk glass and fibre. Absorption and emission cross-sections were calculated based on measured results. The decay characteristic related to the potential laser transition F-7(5)-> F-7(6) has been measured and investigated. The observed high values of emission and absorption cross-sections and long lifetime from the level F-7(5)-> F-7(6) indicate that this glass is a good candidate for future development of a mid-infrared fibre laser.
