Every child learns a new thing. While learning, it is natural to make mistakes by trial and error method. The child tries something to learn, sees the outcomes and he may make the same mistake a few times more but eventually learns it. At the first mistake, punishing or getting mad at the child or not giving enough time to think of his behavior means nothing but preventing him from learning the target behavior. A positive behavior can only be permanent and be enhanced with a positive reaction. A child needs to communicate with people in order to be socialized and adopt moral and material merits. In such communication, he might be exposed to both approved and unapproved behavior in the society. Besides having no idea in such circumstances, parents may punish or praise their children aimlessly, which never prevents misbehavior. Recently, the search for innovation in children's education has accelerated and terms such as authority, punishment and praise have begun to take part in Child Discipline again. Praise is both a means of enhancement for recurrence of the target behavior and reward for success and good deeds. The praise can either be a warm kiss or a precious present. However, it should not be forgotten that praising can only fulfill the goal if in balance. Although there are some educators against punishment owing to the fact that it destroys self-confidence, leads to lying or hypocrisy and also causes psychological disorder; a considerable number of others argue for need for punishment. Even if punishment is not regarded as target behavior, it is handled in terms of discipline in education. Punishment should be in line with target behavior, and the main concern is to punish the behavior, not the opinion It is aimed to help children acquire target behavior by means of praise and punishment in Children's Education. Nevertheless, it is not the main purpose to punish the child to such extend that he is unable to do anything. The main purpose is to point out the ways of being responsible, respectful and harmonious; and also to make children conscientious individuals who respect the rights of every human being.
