摘要
Phased array antenna consists of several components which are integrated to achieve the desired specifications. The antenna performance is governed by the individual components namely phase shifter, amplifier and power distribution network. MMIC based amplifiers and phase shifters are cost effective compared to other technologies. Performance of the microwave components are based on the design as well as assembly process and overall packaging. Also, substrate effect and selection of the package are important to achieve the desired performance. Various process challenges, characterization and related analysis, selection of materials is presented in this article. Further design aspects associated with driver amplifier, power amplifier and switching network are also detailed in this article.
