Study of phase transitions in hexagonal BaTiO3 by means of far-infrared spectroscopy

摘要
Polarized infrared reflection spectra of hexagonal BaTiO3 were obtained and evaluated in the region 12-2000 cm(-1) at temperatures 10-300 K. Soft polar phonon observed in recent hyper-Raman scattering experiment exhibit smaller temperature dependence in our FIR spectra. Anomalously strong temperature dependence of the damping of the mode near 100 cm(-1) indicates large anharmonicity at high temperatures.
