Copper sulfate toxicosis in commercial laying hens

摘要：
A dock of 51-week-old leghorn hens experienced a 16% drop in egg production in a single week. The layer ration contained 1477 ppm copper from the addition of copper sulfate. Severe oral ulcers were present in the pharynx. Oral ulcers, reduced feed intake, and a drop in egg production occurred when a ration containing 1437 ppm copper was evaluated experimentally.
