摘要
This paper describes the attempt of using Fuzzy Logic approach for river flow modelling from rainfall data. Firstly, both rainfall and stream flow are converted into representing fuzzy sets. A special format for the fuzzy sets has been established to cope with the characteristics of rainfall and flow records. The process adopted for the modelling is one that generates sets of qualified linguistic conditionals using an ID3 type algorithm proposed by the Artificial Intelligence group at the University of Bristol. A powerful fuzzy programming language FRIL was adopted in this research.
