摘要
Swift Heavy ion (SHI) irradiation of polymeric materials changes their free volume properties which are strongly co-related to their macroscopic structure 250 mu m thick Polyamide Nylon-6,6(PN 6,6) polymer films, were irradiated with 50 MeV Li3+ ions from pelletron accelarator to the fluences of 5 x 10(10), 10(11) 5 x 10(14) , 1 x 10(12) , 5 x 10(12) , 10(13) and 3.5 x 10(13) ions/cm(2). The effect of heavy ion irradiation on the free volume was studied by Positron Annihialation Lifetime (PAL) and Doppler Broadening spectroscopy (DBS). Mean free volume hole radius, free volume and fractional free volume of mico voids, obtained from o Ps lifetime decrease with fluence anobis attribute to cross-linking S-parameter which is supposed to change due to vacancies type defects created due to SIII irradiation also decreases.
