A Novel Dual-frequency Base-station Antenna for Wireless Communication System

摘要
In this paper, we proposed a broadband dual-frequency base station antenna & antenna array with L probes fed structure for mobile communication system. The two-layered patch antenna and antenna array for the CDMA, GSM, PCS and IMT-2000 (824-960 MHZ, 1710-2170 MHz) dual band are studied. In an attempt to enhance the impedance bandwidth, the rectangle patch antenna is fed by L probes, and it has been experimentally studied. By using foam layers of thickness 0.075 lambda(1) and0.075 lambda(2) (lambda(1) and lambda(2) represent the free space wavelength at the centre frequency of the lower and upper band respectively) to support the patches that are responsible for the lower and upper band, an impedance bandwidth (S-11<-10dB) of 15.2% and 23.7% have been obtained respectively. The far field patterns are stable across the pass band. The antenna array of three units is tested and the results are satisfied.
