The university context is a favourable place to implement active learning and team working activities. With these, academic and professional skills and competences can be encouraged among engineering students so that they become academically and professionally purposeful. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is one of these techniques. Despite the fact that PBL is mainly used in sciences degrees, this paper presents part of the results obtained with an English for Academic and Professional Purposes course. In this particular case, PBL, team working and EAP naturally merged in critical thinking, oral presentations and the assessment of each participant's involvement. Results offer the products, designed and agreed by the eleven teams taking part in the experience, which will enable students to self-assess oral presentations as well as evaluate each student's participation throughout the process.
