摘要:
Porous silicon nitride was sintered from powder mixtures of fine and coarse grain powders, and the relationship of porosity and mechanical properties was studied. The shape of the pore was equiaxial with the typical diameter of 8 pin. The bending strength and the elastic modulus of the specimen with 30% porosity were 250 MPa and 145 GPa, respectively. The weight increase by oxidation at 1400 degreesC in air showed saturation within 10 hours of the specimen with sintering agent of Y(2)O(3) + Al(2)O(3), whereas that of Yb(2)O(3) + SiO(2) did not show saturation after 50 hours.
