Total carbohydrates concentration evaluation in products of microbial origin

摘要
The purpose of this work is to determine the concentration of total carbohydrates in the CBQ-VTC microbial product, by the phenol-sulfuric acid method. The average concentrations of sugars in the samples are 10732.26 mg. L-1, the standard deviation is 797.35491 and a variation coefficient (CV %) of 7.43, which represents the method precision. As a result, LD values equal to 3.19 mg. L-1 and LC equal to 10.63 mg. L-1, were obtained. The real variation coefficient obtained (CV%(Real)) is greater than the theoretical range, since the obtained one is in product samples which raw materials, in general, are very variable, so the variation coefficient obtained is more related with sampling. However, taking this criterion into account, the value is less than 10 %, that is why it is considered good under the samples conditions variations analyzed. The Shapiro-Wilk test showed that the data do not present normality, being necessary the normalization of them by means of a sigmoidal function, to perform the limits calculation of quality specifications by the Bowker method, the lower limit was 8900.42 mg. L-1 and the upper limit of 12728.51 mg. L-1.
