摘要
In this article, design of a diode-based mixer using microstrip rectangular resonator patch is described. A mixer working in down-conversion mode having minimum conversion loss of 8.6 dB with +10 dBm local oscillator (LO) power and 3 dB radio frequency bandwidth of 180 MHz has been achieved at S-band. The novelty of the mixer is that it has inherent LO to intermediate frequency (IF) isolation greater than 18 dB without using an IF low pass filter. A systematic design of the mixer is presented with its simulated and experimental results. The mixer design concept presented here can be applied to design mixers at other frequencies.
