Main achievements of coordination chemistry of modified monosaccharides

摘要
Data on complexation reactions of chemically modified carbohydrates (acetalated and acetylated monosaccharides, carbohydrate podands and coronands, and nitrogen-, phosphorus-, sulfur-, and selenium-containing monosaccharide derivatives) are generalised and described systematically. The structural diversity of the resulting metal complexes is demonstrated and the effect of ligand chirality on the chirality of the corresponding coordination units is discussed.
