Langmuir Blodgett (LB) films of nonamphiphilic decacyclene have been prepared by mixing with stearic acid. Surface pressure versus area per molecule isotherms (pi - A) at different compositions are measured. A comparison of spectroscopic properties with respect to that in solution and in cast film prepared by spin coating technique has been made. Surface morphology of LB films have been examined by Scanning Electron microscopy (SEM). Studies on isotherms, absorption, emission and SEM suggest the formation of aggregates. In LB film, in addition to the monomeric band another broad excimeric band with maxima at similar to 592 nm appears, which is supposed to be aggregation induced.
