摘要
In this paper we investigate what Europeana can mean for MOOC builders, being a repository on European Cultural Heritage. We will discuss contents available in Europeana that have been contributed by two major project, Europeana Photography and Europeana Space, and highlight some of the collections and tools developed. We will also explain the rights labeling in Europeana, and how this helps MOOC builders to get the right content ready for re-use. One of the factors that has a major influence on reusability are image copyrights. Extensive documentation on Open Publishing policies and how to handle IPR issues has been produced; the key results are presented in this paper. We discuss the importance of Europeana's Licensing framework and its recently launched Publishing framework, and show from our own practice the benefits of Creative Commons licenses for the GLAM sector and education. An overview is be offered of the most important open resources on digital Cultural Heritage available for education.
