摘要
W-band radiometers have been shown to be effective in detecting metallic and non-metallic weapons concealed under heavy garments in both indoor and outdoor situations. We now have a system providing near real time-time display and weapon detection in a man portable demonstration system. The system consists of 34 W- Band detectors in a 12 inch Cassegrain system with a mechanical scanner. The system also includes a long wave infrared camera, which aids the operator in selecting targets. Under contract to the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, Lockheed Martin and Intelligent Machine Technology have built and demonstrated this system for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), the research arm of the Department of Justice. The radiometer modules use a PIN switch for the Dickie switch calibration followed by multiple low noise amplifier stages, a Schottky detector and a video amplifier. A synchronous detector and A/D converter for each pixel provides a stream of image data for further processing and operator display. The operator display provides both MMW and IR images, plus a composite overlay of both images. The operator also has control over the frame rate and focus depth, as well as provision for image storage, all from a PC based interface.
