摘要：

Claisen condensations of 1,3-diacetyl-2-hydroxy-5-methylbenzene with esters gave two new outstanding tetraketone ligands. The optimized procedure was developed into a multi-grams scale preparation of 1,3-bis-(3-oxo-3-phenyl-propionyl)-2-hydroxy-5-methylbenzene.
