摘要：
The Diabetes Prevention Program Outcomes Study provides important evidence that the ongoing and rapidly increasing global epidemic of diabetes mellitus can be halted. This study documents substantial success in the prevention or delay of the onset of type 2 diabetes mellitus for at least 10 years through lifestyle modification and metformin treatment.
