Biography History of Science Marie Curie

In 1922, Marie Curie was the first woman member of the Academy of Medicine as a free associate. She did not apply for this Academic Chair. Already double Nobel laureate, she was not elected at the Academie des Sciences in 1911. This article proposes to understand the process of institutional elections or non-elections in their context, that of a scientific community of the first third of the 20th century.
