UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CAMPAIGN AS AN ALTERNATIVE FOR SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT IN PIMOCHA

The purpose of this research is to diagnose the management of solid waste in agriculture in the Pimocha Parish, Province of Los Rios, through the control of decentralized autonomous governments as part of a course project for students of the career of Law with interest in the future specialization in Environmental Law. With the aim of promoting effective solutions for the management of this waste. For this study, university students were divided into groups of fourth and fifth cycle of the career to complete two study phases: the first aimed at diagnosis through surveys and direct observation of the problem situation and in a second phase the design of a plan of action by applying fuzzy cognitive maps. As a result, a main cause of environmental problems related to solid waste was obtained as a result of the lack of environmental education, so strategies are proposed where the intervention of the university is essential.
