Fuzzy logic supervisor-based novel energy management strategy reflecting different virtual power plants

摘要
The designs of the different components of current power grids are undergoing a significant change corresponding to various energy management strategies (EMSs). Standalone plants based on photovoltaic (PV) energy as the main source face several power cut problems. This paper presents an original solution, which solves energy cut and excess energy issues. A new method for communication with different plants is given to respond to the change of power. To this end, different plants with PV energy and batteries are proposed to ensure a consistent power supply. The design and the modeling of the whole system is given. Furthermore, an EMS is presented to distribute energy between different plants. The principle is as follows: If a plant has excess energy, this energy should be stored in another plant whose batteries are not fully charged. If a plant requires energy, this energy can be obtained from another plant if the state-of-charge (SoC) of their batteries have a normal SoC. This EMS is ensured by a fuzzy logic supervisor. The flowchart, rules, memberships functions and code are given in this paper that distribute energy between different plants according to the SoC of batteries, the PV power and load. Two simulation tests with different scenarios are presented to prove the efficiency of the proposed EMS. It was demonstrated with different load variations and different values of solar irradiation for the two plants. These simulation tests provide good results for the energy distribution between plants for different cases: need and excess of energy.
