摘要
The mechanism of the frequency-missing phenomenon in a high repetition rate Q-switched Nd:YAG laser operating at 1319 nm is analyzed and demonstrated. To describe the pulse sequence distribution at high repetition rates, a rate equation model is developed that accounts for the laser operation. The model shows pulse sequence variations as a function of the systematic parameters. The simulation results show the high repetition rate Q-switched laser output characteristics can be affected noticeably by the main parameters such as pumping rate, cavity loss, and duty cycle. It can be speculated that the stability of the output pulse frequency can be further improved for certain values of the control parameters by application of the pre-pump method.
