摘要
The exploration of noise performance for a laser system is one of the most charming topics in optics community. Photo-receivers designed to be stable, low-noise, and high-dynamic-range for a specified laser device are of vital significance to the noise characterization systems. In this paper, principle criteria for customizing photo-receivers used in amplitude- and phase-noise measurements of mode-locked laser systems were presented, and real examples were given for a 100-MHz repetition-rate Ti:Sapphire mode-locked laser. High-dynamic-range output voltage noise spectral density of 5.2 nV/root Hz and 35.6 nV/root Hz for amplitude- and phase-noise photo-receiver, and stability of 70.8 degrees phase margin at loop-gain closure point up to 207 MHz for phase-noise photo-receiver were implemented.
