Economic analysis on soft soil long-term settlement control methods

摘要：
The dredger fill foundation exhibits large long-term settlement even though the foundation was strength enforcement treated. The long-term settlement harms the safety of structures and should be controlled. The main long-term settlement control methods for soft soil foundation are optimizing the depth of drain board or replacing vacuum preloading method with vacuum combined with surcharge preloading method. The two methods both increase the cost. This paper compares the two methods from the perspective of economics based on a road and storage yard engineering case. The cost of structure maintaining due to long-term settlement and cost of long-term settlement control treatment for both two methods are analyzed. The economics of two measures are conclude and can be used for others engineering cases.
