Formation of TiN coatings by gas tunnel type plasma reactive spraying

摘要
The titanium nitride (TiN) coatings were formed by means of a reactive spraying using the gas tunnel type plasma jet in a short time operation. In this study, the fundamental characteristics of this method were investigated by measuring the properties of the TSI coatings formed on a traverse stainless steel substrate. Consequently, TiN coatings of 150 mum thickness were obtained at P = 25 kW, t = 5 s, and some coating properties were discussed. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
