Scaling laws for electron densities and gain coefficients in low-Z Ne-like lasers

摘要
Based on a 4-level model scaling laws for lasing in low-Z neon like ions are derived. The optimum electron density is found to follow a form of N-opt similar to (Z - 8.8)(6.1), and the maximum gain coefficient follows G(opt) similar to (Z - 7.0)(2.7); at conditions near the optimum, the gain coefficient is found to be proportional to N-e(1 - 0.5N(e)/N-opt).
