摘要
Objective: To systematically review the effect of bee honey on mental health. Methodology: Only those studies were included which were related to the significant effect of bee honey on mental health, written in English language and published between January 1st, 2009 to December 31, 2020. Those studies were excluded that had incomplete outcome data. Data were taken from 3 databases including PubMed, Google Scholar and Science Direct. The last date to search the database was January 2021. Results: Bee honey plays a significant role in improving mental health with a considerable effect on reducing the symptoms of stress, depression and anxiety. It is also vital in improving memory, concentration span and helpful in dealing with neurodegenerative disorders. Conclusion: The honey bee was found effective in alleviating the symptoms of mental disorders and also protected from progressive degeneration or death of nerve cells. It has an excellent contribution in improving cognitive functioning like memory and learning.
