HOW THE NEW DOBROVICE MUSEUM WAS FOUNDED

The decision to set up a sugar industry museum, then its extension to full-scale displays on Czech sugar beet growing, distillery and on the town of Dobrovice is an exceptional feat in the Czech museology as to its scope and concept. The article relates all important events leading to the Museum founding. The birth of the Dobrovice Museum has been a gradual process stalling as soon as in the 1990s. An individual endeavour up to 2007 was taken over as teamwork undertaken together by people, companies and the town. This was thanks to this second phase that the Dobrovice Museum became a reality in less than three years. This result has required a great amount of time, travel, work, as well as personal commitment. This is one more reason to rnake the whole setting-up process known and to record it.
