摘要
Construction of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) for natural earth surfaces have now become common practice. What does one do when the topography is caused by the closely-spaced tall buildings of lower Manhattan, New York City? (What we choose to call 'urban topography.') Although the DEM principles are applicable, special problems were encountered in this very exciting and innovative project, requiring unique solutions, which are all discussed in this article.
