摘要：

One-pot cyclocondensation reaction of aromatic aldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and urea/thiourea in the presence of NaHSO4 center dot H2O produced 4-aryl substituted 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones and their sulfur analogs in high to excellent yields. The reactions were carried out in refluxing n-hexane and were completed within 2.5-11 h.
