摘要
The free energy of a magnetic vortex with an arbitrary core shape near the surface of bulk superconductor is calculated. The contribution of the configurational entropy of the vortex core to the vortex free energy is estimated, as well as to the saddle-point free energy barrier which determines the probability of transformation of small virtual vortex nucleus into large viable vortex under the large thermally induced fluctuations of the core shape.
