摘要
The paper addresses the problem of accelerated design optimization of antennas. The proposed approach involves a design database and kriging interpolation models yielding a good initial point and an initial Jacobian matrix for further optimization. The latter involves Broyden-based trust-region gradient search. The operation of the method is demonstrated using a dual-band uniplanar dipole antenna optimized for wide ranges of operating frequencies (2 GHz to 3 GHz for the lower band and 4 GHz to 5.5 GHz for the upper band). The re-design cost is just a few full-wave simulations of the structure for all considered verification cases.
