摘要
Aortic stenosis (AS) is the most common valvular heart disease in the western world, accounting for 43% of all single, native, left-sided valve disease. The disease is more common in the elderly population and continues to increase in prevalence as the population ages. Consequently, the health care system must prepare for the growing number of patients with AS who necessitate an aortic valve replacement. Clinicians should be aware of the symptoms and physical examination findings patients may experience as a result of AS, as well as the appropriate management and escalation of care. © 2020 Elsevier Inc.
