摘要：

The publication is devoted to one of the most acute demographic problems of the population in the pre-war years and during the Great Patriotic War - the growth of infant and child mortality. The authors analyze the dynamics, identify the factors that influenced these processes, the principles of protection of motherhood and childhood, forms of assistance. The authors analyze the state policy measures and their influence on the corresponding indicators in the Gorky and Kirov regions of the RSFSR during the war period.
