The effect of a HF electric field on the propagation of an electrostatic wave in a nonuniform plasma waveguide

摘要
An analytical study of the reflection of an electrostatic wave propagating along a magnetized nonuniform plasma slab subject to an intense HF electric field is presented. It is found that when the frequency of the incident wave omega(g) is close to the electron plasma frequency omega(Pc), the plasma is less reflective due to the presence of the HF held. On the other hand, for a low-frequency incident wave (omega(g) similar to omega(Pi)), the reflection coefficient is directly proportional to the amplitude of the HF field.
