Convergent R-matrix with pseudostates calculations for electron-impact ionization of the n=2 states in helium

摘要
We have used the R-matrix with pseudostates method to calculate angle-integrated cross-sections for electron-impact ionization of the n = 2 states in helium. Good agreement with the convergent close-coupling results of Fursa and Bray (J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 30 (1997) 757) is obtained, thereby confirming the discrepancy with the experimental data of Dixon et al (J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Phys. 9 (1976) 2617).
