摘要
The field experiment was conducted during the winter season 2020-2021 in Abu Gharq district, which is 10 km northwest of Hilla city, for the purpose of studying the effect of the cultivar and the level of nitrogen fertilization on the growth and yield of barley Hordeum vulgare L. The experiment design included two factors, the first factor being three types: IPA99, Bohuth 244, and IPA265, and the second factor four levels of nitrogen fertilization, which are 60, 120 and 180 kg N.ha-1, as well as the control treatment (without fertilization). The treatments were distributed in a factorial experiment according to the design of Randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates. The results obtained showed the cultivar Bohouth 244 excelled in the number of tillers, the number of spikes and the number of grains in spike, and the result was with averages of 318 grains.m-2 and 226.6m-2 and 50.02 grains.spike-1 and 3.84 tons.ha-1, respectively, in comparison with the lowest averages, which were for the cultivar IPA 99 with averages of 188 tiller.m-2, 136.8m-2, 35.38 grains. spike-1 and 1.79 tons.ha-1, respectively. The level of nitrogen fertilization 120 kg N. ha-1 excelled in the area of the flag leaf, the number of tillers, the number of spikes, the number of grains in spike and grain yield with averages of 20.78 cm2, 285.9 m-2, 193.9 m-2 and 46.09 grains. spike-1 and 3.15 tons. ha-1, respectively, compared with the control treatment (without fertilization), which gave averages of 15.78 cm(2), 213.6 tiller.m.-2, 151.3 m-2 and 39.58 grains. spike-1 and 2.39 ton. ha-1, respectively.
