Temperature dependent physicochemical investigations of some nucleic acid bases (uracil, thymine and adenine) in aqueous inositol solutions

Physicochemical studies have been carried out of some nucleic acid bases (uracil, thymine and adenine) in aqueous and mixed aqueous inositol (0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 mol kg(-1)) solutions at six different temperatures (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, 313.15, 318.15) K. Bymeans of density, speed of sound and viscosity values, various volumetric, compressibility and viscometric parameters like apparent molar properties (V-phi, K-phi,K-s), limiting apparent molar properties (V-phi(0), K-phi,s(0)), transfer properties (Delta V-tr(phi)0, Delta K-tr(phi,s)0 and Delta B-tr), hydration number (n(H)) etc. were computed. By using Jones-Dole equation, viscosities B-coefficients have been calculated. Solvation behavior of above mentioned nucleic acid bases in aqueous solutions of inositol has also been evaluated. Using cosphere overlap model, various intermolecular interactions prevailing in the ternary systems have been discussed. By making use of the temperature derivative of B coefficient (dB/dT), the structure making/breaking of solute have been investigated. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
