Preparation of Porous Ag@Ni Foam and Its Application for Non-aqueous Lithium-air Batteries

摘要
A novel three-dimensional structured foam Ag@Ni composite material was prepared by improved cell galvanic reaction using Ni foam as substrate. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) results show that the formed Ag particles are dendrite and homogenously precipitated on the surface of Ni foam. The as-prepared porous Ag@Ni foam was applied as the current collector of air cathode for the Li-air battery, and the electrochemical performances were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and galvanostatic discharge. The results show that the Ag@Ni foam-supported air cathode exhibits an enhanced catalytic effect for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and improved discharge performances. When the current density is 0.1 mA/cm(2), the discharge voltage platform increases from 2.66 to 2.73 V, and the capacity increases from 2000 to 2750 mAh/g. Furthermore, the improvement is more significant at higher current density.
