Cholesteric mixtures with photochemically tunable, circularly polarized fluorescence

摘要
A study was conducted on cholesteric mixtures with photochemically tunable, circularly polarized fluorescence. As such, two mixtures were prepared in which both contains chiral photochromic and fluorescent dopants. The possibility of combining helix-pitch photomodification with tunable fluorescence would allow photoregulation of not only the fluorescence intensity, but also, the polarization state of the emitted light. Such a unique combinations opens new possibilities for the creation of novel, active materials with photovariable optical properties for optical data recording and storage.
