摘要
Introduction of continuous casting has imposed much tougher working conditions such as higher tapping temperature, and longer holding time. This demands superior refractories in iron and steel making processes. Al2O3-C brick is characterised by its excellent resistance towards slag corrosion, thermal and structural spalling and has got good residual expansion at higher temperature. The development and application of alumina-carbon refractories at the metal zone and bottom of steel teeming ladle and ladle furnaces has proved its superiority over conventional refractories.
