Effect of a miso diet on colonic aberrant crypt foci in F344 rats exposed to azoxymethane

摘要
Modifying effect of dietary exposure to mise diet on the developement of colonic aberrant crypt foci(ACF) induced by azoxymethane(AOM) were investigated in 6 week old male F344 rats. The total number of ACF/colon in the mise diet groups was decreased in a dose dependent manner. In groups given 10% and 20% mise, the frequences of ACF/colon were significantly lower than that of AOM alone (P<0.05 and P<0.01). Since biochainin A is known to relate the cell cycle regulation, the mise diet containing biochainin A might be a possible dietary-preventive agent for rat colon carcinogenesis.
