摘要
Computer simulation of earthquakes can be used to test theoretical models and it allows to generate catalogs of synthetic earthquake events. This paper discusses several models and algorithms for simulating strike-slip faults with nearest-neighbor and long-range interactions. Strike-slip earthquakes have initial rupture sites near the earth's surface. The essential physics of earthquakes are reviewed.
