Complexation of platinum(II) and platinum(IV) chloro complexes with N,N′-dipentylethylenediamine-N′-thiocarbaldehyde

摘要
Platinum(II) and platinum(IV) complexes with N,N'-dipentylethylenediamine-N'-thiocarbaldehyde (L) were synthesized and studied by IR, NMR, and electronic spectroscopy. Depending on the specified Pt(II) : ligand ratio and the conditions of synthesis, the following complexes were formed: (mu-Cl)(2)-[Pt2Cl4L2] (Ia), (mu-S(L))(2)-[Pt2Cl4L2] (Ib), cis-[PtClL](2)(mu-Cl)(2). 2HCl (II), cis-[Pt2Cl2L2] (III), and cis-[PtCl2(LH)(2)]Cl-2 (IV). Irrespective of the specified Pt(IV) : ligand ratio, the complex trans-PtCl4L2 (V) was formed in the neutral medium and a mixture of the ion associate (LH)(2)[PtCl6] (VIa) and the complex trans-[PtCl4L2]. 2HCl (VIb) was formed in the acidic medium.
