Tritium in [18O]water containing [18F]fluoride for [18F]FDG synthesis

摘要
The presence of tritium in enriched [O-18]water irradiated with 9.6 MeV protons used to produce [F-18]fluoride by the O-18(p, n)F-18 reaction was inferred from the cross sections and threshold energies of the O-18(p, t)O-16 reaction, and the existence of tritium was confirmed experimentally. Tritium was also detected in both [O-18]water recovered for recycling and waste acetonitrile solutions. The purified [F-18]FDG was not contaminated with H-3. The amount of H-3 discharged into the air was far less than the International Basic Safety Standard Level. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
