Trauma related wound infection with Aspergillus fumigatus

We report a case of cutaneous infection by Aspergillus fumigatus in an immunocompetent patient after a trauma which involves severe frostbites with a fonctional compromise of a single knee joint. Despite an initially favorable course, after surgical wound cleaning. secondary necrosis made a fungal aetiology suspicious. Then the course was ultimately favorable after a second surgical cleaning and treatment with caspofungin-voriconazole. This rare cutaneous fungal infection in an immunocompetent patient should be recognized in order to treat with appropriate antifungal medications.
