CASE STUDY OF THE PHRASEOLOGY USED IN COLOMBIA: CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF AN AD HOC CORPUS OF MULTI WORD UNITS

The aim of this study is to fill a gap by studying the phraseological universe of the Spanish spoken in Colombia, with particular attention to the sphere of locutions. The methodological design of the study has been divided into two phases: firstly, an ad hoc corpus of more than 1400 phraseological units has been compiled, taken mainly from the Diccionario de colombianismos and the Diccionario de americanismos; secondly, the phraseological content of these units has been analysed according to quantitative and qualitative criteria. The analysis of the corpus took into account the sentence functions performed in the discourse, the semantic field to which the main lexical constituent of the phraseological unit belongs (Sanchez and Aguirre 1992), the register (Penades Martinez, 2015), the speaker's intentionality, the variants (Corpas Pastor 1996; Mellado Blanco 2004), and its presence in the Diccionario de la Lengua Espanola.
