This report presents the results from the ONS Survey of Homeless People in Glasgow commissioned by the Greater Glasgow Mental Health Framework Steering Group in 1999. The survey aimed to cover a number of topics including mental health and substance misuse, general health and service use, accommodation, diet and social functioning. The method of data gathering comprised a face-to-face interview based on a questionnaire schedule. The sampling procedures were designed to provide a representative sample of all homeless people living in hostels or sleeping rough in Glasgow to provide information to assist the planning of services for this group. Overall the response rate was high (78%), yielding 225 personal interviews.
