摘要：

This paper investigates the development of the Korean iron and steel industry. Statistics, steel industry characteristics, historical development, and factors which made fostered the remarkable growth of Korean steel industry are analysed. The development of steel making technologies as well as the new trends in future technologies were described through six strategic POSCO projects.
