摘要
The strut bar is one of the most crucial mechanical parts used in the moving parts of automobiles where high hardness is required. In this work, the numerical and experimental analyses of a strut bar which is made of a Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) composite are performed. The GFRP composite strut bar is fabricated and the experimental results are taken by performing various tests such as tensile, compression, and impact, flexural according to ASTM standards. Then, the numerical analysis is also carried out for the conventional and the fabricated struts using the finite element analysis software. The GFRP composite strut model shows improvement in specific strength and specific modulus. (c) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
